Dear Dr. Abouzira,
I would appreicate your looking at a growth or fungus on my left leg. In the last four days it has gone from my ankle to above my knee. I don't think it is poison ivy--it doesn't itch nor drain. It does have bumps as well as an internal pain in the leg that wakes me up in the night. I removed the poison ivy from my garden in previous years. (Oh, I was in the Washington Post in March for a picture of my 19-foot tomato plant last year with me on a 20-foot ladder picking tomatos!)
As you know, I stopped using the V.A. for scheduled healthcare because of blood clinic incidences. Since my last written complaint I had the following misfortune: I was last summer in the PX/store paying for an item talking to the cashier when the person behind me started talking loudly to the cashier which drowned out my voice. I turned. It was one of the blood clinic technicians glaring at me. From behind, she recognized my voice and felt she had a license to be rude. Would you risk your blood tests to people who are so unprofessional? It does not say much for supervisors and administrators that my complaint was presented in such a way that the object of my complaint have additional reasons for treating me unprofessionally.
Timism.com is moving forward, slowly but surely. My final subproject are videos/slideshows of basic concents for uploading to YouTube--80 finished, 120 to go. They are for people who don't read. Two are provided on the enclosed disk.
They are provided with a request of confidentially per HIPAA.
As I said to a friend who complained about my delays in launching Timism.com, if all the parts are not right, it won't work. (I have had a distraction in the last year--my first wife of my college days 40 years ago has become my present wife's best friend. Odd. Strange.)
I am not as aggressive in launching Timism.com as I might be for two reasons. As I believe I wrote you, I made three predictions in 2006 based on concluding we had passed the tipping point of global warming.
A second reason for my dwindling aggressiveness is the lack of narcoleptic medication. I stretched the last prescription of providgal for a long-time if you review when you wrote the last prescription. I find that I presently fall asleep consistently every 90 minutes unless I drink a lot of coffee or smoke a cigar--not really a good form of treatment. If you think that my work has merit, I would appreciate not only a renewal of the providgal prescription but an outside prescription for methyphenidate (20mg/slow release) which I used prior to the V.A. I'm not a druggie. I just would like to be able to stay awake to take this project as far as possible as quickly as possible. If one medication works better than other then I will use it.
Best wishes and thanks for kindness in the past,
bob barnett
