Storms rip crops, disrupt power in parts of Neb.

By The Associated Press

A rumbling thunderstorm has knocked out power in some parts of southeast Nebraska.

Several outages were reported in Lincoln on Tuesday morning.

Police reported street flooding and that some trees and power lines were down.

Wind gusts of 70 mph were reported near Milford, west of Lincoln.

Along the South Dakota border to the north, golf ball-size hail damaged crops in Boyd County. The National Weather Service also reported 2 1/2 inches of rainfall there.

Overnight, hail up to 2 1/2 inches in diameter was reported north of Gordon in the Panhandle. And the Weather Service says hail 1 3/4 inches in diameter was reported north-northeast of Tryon in west-central Nebraska.
