Tourists reminded of rural water water shortage -

As towns along the country's coastline prepare to be inundated by holiday-makers, in New South Wales tourists are being urged to "Go slow on the

H2O".

The State Government is encouraging tourists to leave Sydney over the summer but to also be conscious of the severe water restrictions facing regional New South Wales.

Minister for Water Conservation John Aquilina says the government is guaranteeing water to all regional towns and villages.

"The last thing we want at this stage is with the drought biting so hard into rural New South Wales for their to be a tourist drought as well. We are watching the water situation very closely of course. We want tourists to also be very conscious of the fact that water is scarce and although we want them to holiday hard, we also want them to go slow on the H2O."
