Why I am Smart

My academic record speaks for itself:

  1. Completed undergraduate requirements cum laude from an university of 29,000 students (SIU) in just over 2 years(transcript).
  2. One 7-course semester was ace'd for 24 credit hours .
  3. My resume often elicits "Liar" from underachievers.
  4. ACT97% ... MAT96% ... 100wpm ... IQ164 ... High school ranking: 52%(196/376).

I have a high iCube, that is, Integrity of Intellect and Information. This is a restatement of the "nature vs. nurture" issue. Has a nice ring like IQ. I can point to two distinct raw advantages I have over the average person when it comes to intellect--the raw brain power that integrates information.

  1. Memory: On my tenth Christmas, I told my family that I could remember my first Christmas when I was eleven months old. Against their refusal to believe me, I detailed the room with Christmas Tree and my crib. Since my mother moved every two to three months because she never paid rent after the first month, the house in LaPlace, Illinois,  was 20 to 30 homes before my 10th Christmas. My memory served me well in college and business since I could retain a lot of information quickly
  2. Attention Span: People with short attention spans have attention deficity disorder. At the other extreme is what can be called ASD: Attention Surplus Disorder. One cannot create new perspectives if one cannot attend to sufficient details. Likewise, one cannot discern contradictions if one cannot mentally entertain the larger picture.

Attention span is important in other ways. Hypocrisy comes in two varieties.
    1. Attention span hypocrisy is when the speaker does not realize the contradiction that seems like hypocrisy to a listener with a longer attention span. When confronted with the contraction the ADD ususally erects mental ego defenses and will say, "Why do you want to argue with me?"
    2. Political hypocrisy is when a person knowingly lies for some personal reason. Political hypocrisy is not always wrong espeically when the listener will not or cannot handle the truth:
      • Slave chaser asks,: "Are you harboring runaway slaves?"
      • Underground conductor: "No, but if I find one for you, can I get half the reward?"
  3. Politics and attention span:
  4. Information refinement:

My great memory and longer attention span explains my moving away from my dying hometown. But what explains my using my brains for the good of humanity rather than the good of my bank account? Simple: Poverty.

Beginning at the age of eight, I weekly worked 40+ hours to cover most of my cost of existence. I did not have time for activities my peers enjoyed. I never got hooked on sports. Today, I know next to nothing about baseball, basketball, football, etc. However, years of broad reading of history, politics and economics has produced an integrated meaning of life with means for a more meaningful life: Timism--The Morality of More Time, aka, the Periodic Table of Existence.

I know a lot of how to save life on earth from self-destruction. It was not for naught that I was called DIBs.

I have been a lucky thinker. Do you want me to share my luck with you? It is up to you. Forward the Chain Letters for Democracy emails to your Timists and CC groups.
