Two Genies and Four Secrets
Genie #1: Three Wishes
Wow! I have had a deprived adulthood. For me, and I assumed for everyone, the story of the genie in the bottle was simple. The released genie would grant you three wishes.
Now, Googling "genie in the bottle" I see a whole industry has developed around how it is a metaphor that symbolizes pent-up desires, mostly non-heterosexual desires. Blows me away. Definitively fits in with the You Owe Me mentality.
The phrase has been transposed by "humpty dumptyism," that is, the philosophical concept that words and names mean exactly what the speaker chooses them to mean. This is how populism begins with the bigger liar getting the biggest following.
Thus, we live in a world without standard logical communication as each person feels their gut reactions, not their social and economic actitions, are the reality that should matter to the world as a whole.
Thus, Per Google, "In daily language, saying someone is like a "genie
in a bottle" means they have a lot to offer but require patience, the right
approach, or a specific key to unlock their true potential or emotions. It
is closely tied to themes of self-worth and mutual respect."
This is a person wanting something-for-nothing. Self-worth comes from being
worthy as a problem-solver. Mutual respect requires both parties to be
re-inspectable as problem-solvers. A world without problem-solvers is a worthless
world. So true is "To be is to do."
This a rapist who thinks being called out as a rapist is worse than being
a rapist. (A personal experience drove home this attitude. A Gen-Z friend
lied to me three times. When I called her a liar, she said I had hurt her
emotionally and that I needed to see a counselor on how to handle my
emotions.)
One's worth is directly tied to one being part of the solution not
part of the time-wasting problems. Otherwise, one will foolishly overvalue
the valueless.
Likewise with respect which comes from re-inspect. If one gives un-deserved
respect then one is cheapening one's own life and future. Echoing how "Help
that does not help the helpless to self-help is not help" is "Respect that
does not re-inspect the subject to be better is not respect."
[This someonw wants something-for-nothing and who does not want to
work to solve real world problems. They have a KMA attitude. They want others
to sacrifive for them rather than they sacrifice/invest their time to make
better themselves and our world. This is the Gen-Z generation attitude of
You
Owe Me. Progressive Insurance reinforces this attitude with "Don't be
like your parents" ads. Too often, one can see a failure treated as a success
with an excuse.]
Genie #2: Anger for Being Imprisoned for so long
Juxtaposed to the traditional simple folklore of genie in the bottle is the angry emerging genie who doesn't want to grant any wishes. Instead, he wants to punish the bottle popper for taking so long to let the genie out. An emotional part of the originator of Timism is like the angry genie. He has four pieces of knowlege that almost everyone would like to know. The Timist genie is peeved. The 20,000 recipients of the 40+ Chain Letters of Democracy did not forward the letters.
