More important than gasoline prices is the elephant-in-the-room (Climate Hell) and how pump prices affect climate change. As originally explained in the 1982 Oil Drought essay, increased atmospheric CO2 soaks up water from the ground, or, absorbs falling water from higher levels. The latter is due to CO2 being heavier that non-CO2 air. More CO2 means bigger ground-hugging masses of CO2 over the areas that generate the CO2. One should cringe when weatherheads talk about lower dry air preventing upper level moisture from falling to the ground. Why don't they ask what causes the air to be "dry." With its fossil fuel foolishness, California's gargantuan CO2 wall absorbs the Pacific moisture. The water is carried downwind for a later "soda-bottle shake" in which the water comes out all at once with the characteristics of nuclear fission, e.g., Santa Anna Winds. With $400 gas stimulus checks, the Governor and Legislators of California are winning their re-election battle but losing the war of saving California's economy from Climate Hell. Part and parcel to droughts worsening historical fires.

Given Mother Nature's physical laws of CO2 and H2O, California's fossil fuel foolishness is the cause of the following headline: "California drought: Sierra snowpack falls to one of lowest levels in 70 years", Mercury News, April 1, 2022. While igknowance of the law is no excuse, igknowance of Mother Nature's laws is no escape.

Gasoline prices will rise until consumers stop driving so much. But, if they win the lottery they will pay more and drive more. Or, if Governor Newsom offers to give car owners $400, they will pay more and drive more. The $11 billion tax supports for gasoline really is a subsidy for petrophiliacs who love oil even if it kills us.

Newsom and his crony clones deserve some special nicknames:

1. Arson Catalysts increasing fire conditions
2. Climate Criminals metastasizing a continental climate cancer
3. Drought Daddies (sort of like sugar daddy only Newsom is screwing life on earth)
4. Petrophilic Lapdog rolling over and barking like a good dog

Gasoholics are like fat people wanting the keys to the candy store ... and Newsom wants legislative locksmiths to counterfeit millions of keys.

What is wrong with Newsom? He is a pretty boy bimbo in more ways than gas vapidity. He is a climate criminal pimpy climate lemmings for a climate cancer.

If the government matched each de facto corporate 1% "private tax" rise with a 5% public tax, people would sooner stop their climate-damaging energy use. The government would have more tax revenues for public needs instead of corporations having more money for M&M's (mansions and mistresses.

Politicians calling for a repeal of the current gasoline tax are, in effect, calling for increased private taxation by the petrophiliacs who will increase prices until people stop buying.

Joe Biden ordered the release of 180 millon barrels of oil from the Strategy Petroleum Reserve in March, 2022. Why? His re-election addiction to 2024. This will cause more global warming. On another day, he will say we need to stop climate change. What does Mother Nature say? "I don't have a hole deep enough in hell for this hypocrite."

Analogous market dynamics: Biden's stimulus checks drove up drug prices in the Projects [and stimulated Chinese imports]. Likewise in 2022, the state politicians who want to give citizens anti-inflation checks ignore the basic definition of inflation: More money chasing the same goods and services. This is the logic of a dog chasing its tail ... a closed loop. More money is the main reason that college costs keep outpacing average inflation: 529 college savings plans throw more money at the same product. Duh! DASE!

California Class Action Suit
to Stop Downwind Flooding

Rather than subsidizing destructive winds, fires, deluges and flooding, Californians should be required by federal action to significantly and immediately reduce gasoline consumption by the following actions:

1. A monthly dollar increase in state gasoline levels until declining consumption is half what it was before the Ukraine price spike. Forget the funny numbers on funny paper--Mother Nature's currency is CO2 (www ... YouTube). Each gallon of gas is a loan of time-savings with Mother Nature having a loan shark interest rate: Climate Hell which makes your past and future time worthless.
2. Collected taxes will go to downwind victims of California's fossil fuel follies. As one state cannot pollute a river flowing into another state nor should Californians be allowed to pollute atmospheric rivers with deluges that destroy downwind homes and infrastructures in far greater value than property destroyed by forest fires.
